Saving Money at Drugstores: Walgreens

Walgreens: Register Rewards (RR)
Walgreens uses a rewards program called Register Rewards (RR). Similar to many grocery stores, RR print as manufacturer coupons (good ONLY at Walgreens) at the register when a specified item is purchased.
  • RR will print when a specified item or quantity of items is purchased. Items that will trigger a RR to print are often noted in the weekly sale ad.
  • After a RR prints, you can use it towards the purchase of any item in the store with the sole exception of the item that caused it to print (Or any fine print for your Walgreens location.) For example, if you purchased a pack of Keebler cookies which printed $2 in RR, you can use those RR towards another non-sale item or another RR deal item, but you cannot use it to purchase another pack of Keebler cookies.
  • RR often expire fairly quickly... within a month of printing. So, if you do not shop at Walgreens very often, and you know you will be purchasing an item printing RR, have a second transaction ready to go. (I usually try to find a staple item).
